Configuring the Environment

You can use the BIOS settings recommended in this section for better performance.

  1. Enter BIOS Setup and press F9 to restore default settings.
  2. Configure the SMMU option.

Choose Advanced > MISC Configuration and set Support Smmu to Enabled.

  3. Configure the performance option.
    1. Press Esc to return to the main BIOS Setup screen.
    2. Choose Advanced > Power And Performance Configuration and set Power Policy to Performance.

  4. Configure the prefetching and SMT2 options.
    1. Press Esc to return to the main BIOS Setup screen.
    2. Choose Advanced > Power And Performance Configuration > CPU PM Control and set CPU Prefetching Configuration to Enabled.
    3. Set SMT2 (if available) to Disabled. Disabling SMT2 improves the single-core encoding performance. If the encoding cores required by services outnumber the physical cores, you can enable SMT2 to obtain higher concurrency performance.
