High-Performance Cloud Disk Optimization
The high-performance cloud disk optimization solution works based on the SPDK+Ceph framework to accelerate VMs' access to cloud disks. The SPDK controller manages Ceph RBD devices and uses the SPDK polling mechanism to forward and process I/O requests delivered by VMs. Compared with QEMU that directly calls the Ceph librbd API, the high-performance cloud disk solution delivers higher performance. Figure 1 shows the architecture of the high-performance cloud disk optimization solution.
The SPDK+Ceph solution accelerates Ceph storage clients in virtualization scenarios to improve I/O read and write capabilities. Based on SPDK+Ceph, the high-performance cloud disk optimization solution further optimizes the storage performance. The optimization effect covers basic server configuration optimization, Ceph client software optimization, and Gazelle optimization.
