Preparing SmartKit

  1. Save the HAF package downloaded in Obtaining Software to a local directory.

  2. Download and install SmartKit.

    Software package: SmartKit_25.1.0.zip

After obtaining the software package, verify that it is consistent with that provided on the website.

Verify the installation package as follows:

    1. Obtain the digital certificate and software.
    2. URL for obtaining the verification tool and method: https://support.huawei.com/enterprise/en/tool/pgp-verify-TL1000000054
    3. Verify the software package integrity. For details, see the OpenPGP Signature Verification Guide downloaded in 2.b.

Decompress the software package and double-click the installation file to install SmartKit.

  3. Start SmartKit.

The following figure shows the home page of SmartKit.

  4. Import the IP address of the server.
    1. Click Add Device.

    2. Choose Devices > Server > OS > Get Template File to obtain the Excel template.

    3. Enter the start IP address, end IP address, username, and password of all nodes in the cluster in the obtained template.

    4. Click Batch Import to import the Excel template to SmartKit.

  5. Use the batch distribution function of SmartKit.
    1. On the SmartKit home page, choose Server > Upgrade/Patch Installation > Batch Distribution. Then click Batch Distribution.

If you use batch distribution for the first time, the system displays a message indicating that the function is unavailable and asking you whether to install the function online. Click OK.

    2. Choose Device Selection > OS, select the IP addresses of the nodes to be installed, and click OK.

The IP addresses must contain the compute and offload nodes' IP addresses.

    3. Click Batch Distribution.

The Batch Distribution page is displayed.

    4. Select one or more nodes and configure a service flow.

Click Configure Service, select Custom, and click Next.

    • In addition to configuring service flows, you can edit and execute service flows.
    • If the execution of a service flow fails, you can click Export Report in the Batch Distribution window to view the detailed execution process.
    • A service flow consists of a series of operations. You can add, delete, move up, move down, import, and export a service flow.
    • There are two types of operations: file transfer and command execution. Files can be transferred from a local host to a remote host or the other way around. After a service flow is configured, you can export the service flow and then import previously exported service flows to avoid repeated configuration.
