Installation Methods
The subfeatures of OmniRuntime can be installed using SmartKit or locally. SmartKit allows you to batch distribute tasks on a graphical user interface. You do not need to log in to the server to perform background operations. A local installation requires you to log in to the server OS, and it is more friendly to users who are familiar with command line operations. Select the installation method that better suits your requirements.
Table 1 describes the methods.
Method |
Applicable Feature |
Description |
|---|---|---|
Installation using SmartKit (recommended) |
OmniData, OmniOperator, OmniShuffle |
Using SmartKit for service installation implements batch task distribution without directly performing operations on all background servers. The prerequisite is that you have a Windows environment that can access all servers. SmartKit supports only Windows. |
Local installation |
OmniData, OmniOperator, OmniMV, OmniShuffle, OmniAdvisor |
If you want to directly install a service on your server, select local installation. If there are a large number of nodes in the cluster, you are advised to generate scripts by referring to the local installation procedure to implement batch installation. |
