Introduction to KSML

The Kunpeng Storage Maintenance Library (KSML) is a Huawei-developed storage maintenance library that provides HDD fault prediction and slow HDD detection. This document describes how to use KSML.

HDD fault prediction uses machine learning algorithms to train models based on collected SMART data for predicting and identifying potential faulty drives in storage clusters before the faults affect services, so that customers can handle the faults in a timely manner.

Slow HDD detection also adopts machine learning algorithms. It collects w_await data of system drives to detect slow drives in advance, which helps reduce long-tail latency in clusters and improve cluster stability.
