Configuring the Server BIOS
Recommended BIOS Configurations for Kunpeng Servers
For details about how to access the BIOS of Kunpeng servers and the menu and parameters on the BIOS screen, see the BIOS Parameter Reference (Kunpeng 920 Processor).
Configuration Item |
Value Description |
Recommended Configuration |
Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
Power Policy |
Sets the energy efficiency mode.
|
Performance |
In the performance mode, no dynamic frequency modulation (FM) is available, and the operating frequency is fixed at the nominal frequency. |
Custom Refresh Rate |
Sets the memory refresh rate. |
Auto |
The memory refresh rate is automatically configured. |
NUMA |
Determines whether to enable non-uniform memory access (NUMA). |
Enable (default value) |
In most cases, enabling this feature improves the performance of some workloads. Disabling this feature requires that all nodes have the same memory size. |
Die Interleaving |
Determines whether to enable DIE interleaving. When the DIE interleaving is enabled, the DDR bandwidth can be fully used and the bandwidth of each DDR channel can be balanced to improve the DDR usage efficiency. |
Disable (default value) |
Retain the default value. After the DIE interleaving is enabled, the memory access may be slow and the performance may deteriorate. |
Rank Interleaving |
Sets the rank interleaving mode. |
4-way Interleave (default value) |
Retain the default value. |
One Numa Per Socket |
Determines whether each CPU has a NUMA node. If you need to set multiple NUMA nodes for each CPU, disable One Numa Per Socket and Die Interleaving. |
Disabled (default value) |
Retain the default value. If this feature is enabled, the memory access may be slow and the performance may deteriorate. |
CPU Prefetching Configuration |
Enables CPU prefetching. |
Enabled (default value) |
In HPC scenarios, data is centralized. Enabling prefetching can effectively improve performance. |
