Hyper MPI has optimized the algorithms and topology awareness for the three collective communication functions: MPI_Allreduce, MPI_Bcast, and, MPI_Barrier, so that they can deliver ultimate performance in small-packet scenarios. Compared with other MPIs, Hyper MPI has the following key features:
- UCG module
In addition to all features of Open MPI, Hyper MPI newly supports a collective communication module, UCG module. This module contains a large number of in-house collective communication algorithms, significantly improving performance of collective communication functions such as MPI_Allreduce, MPI_Bcast, and MPI_Barrier. In key running scenarios, Huawei's solution is equivalent to or even surpasses the industry benchmark MPI implementation, reaching the industry-leading level.
- Compatibility with Kunpeng and x86 environments
Hyper MPI can work on Kunpeng servers and clusters or on x86 servers.
