Installing PnetCDF

Procedure

  1. Use PuTTY to log in to the server as the root user.
  2. Decompress the PnetCDF installation package.
    tar -xvf parallel-netcdf-1.9.0.tar.bz
  3. Go to the directory generated after the decompression.
    cd parallel-netcdf-1.9.0
  4. Add the environment variables.
    export CC=clang
export CXX=clang++
export FC=flang
export MPICC=mpicc
export MPICXX=mpicxx
export MPIFC=mpifort

    After that, you do not need to add them again during subsequent installation steps.

  5. Perform the configuration and installation.
    ./configure --prefix=/path/to/PNETCDF --build=aarch64-unknown-linux-gnu CFLAGS="-fPIC -DPIC" CXXFLAGS="-fPIC -DPIC" FCFLAGS="-fPIC" FFLAGS="-fPIC" CC=$MPICC CXX=$MPICXX FC=$MPIFC F77=$MPIFC
make
make install
  6. Load the environment variables.
    export PATH=/path/to/PNETCDF/bin:$PATH
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/path/to/PNETCDF/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
