Installation Modes

Table 1 describes four installation methods. Select one based on the site requirements.

Installing Lighttpd by Compiling the Source Code	Install Lighttpd from the source code.	Manually download the source code.
Installing Lighttpd by Using an RPM Package Obtained from a Mirror Site	Download the RPM package from a mirror site and install it.	Manually download the RPM package from a mirror site.
Installing Lighttpd by Using the Yum Source Obtained from a Mirror Site	Configure the network source of the mirror site to enable the RPM package to be downloaded and installed on a server directly. The server must be able to access the Internet.	Configure the network source and automatically download the RPM package from a mirror site.
Installing Lighttpd by Using the One-click Compilation, Deployment, and Optimization Script (recommended)	Run a script to implement automatic compilation, deployment, and performance tuning.	Use a script to perform one-click compilation, deployment, and performance tuning.
