Symptom
The following error message is displayed when passing a device through to the VM:

Conclusion and Solution
The device passthrough feature depends on the SMMU. However, the startup parameter setting iommu.passthrough=1 indicates that the SMMU function is disabled. As a result, the passthrough process fails. Delete the startup parameter, restart the host, and try again.
