Configuring the BIOS

Restarting the Server and Entering the BIOS Settings Page

Log in to the remote server management platform and access the remote virtual console. After the system startup screen is displayed, press Del or F4 to access the BIOS screen.

Configuring Performance Options

  1. On the BIOS settings page, choose Advanced > Performance Config.
  2. On the Performance Config page, set Power Policy to Performance.

Configuring MISC Options

  1. On the BIOS settings page, choose Advanced > MISC Config.
  2. On the MISC Config screen, set Support Smmu to Disabled and Support 44Bit to Enabled.

Configuring Memory Options

  1. On the BIOS settings page, choose Advanced > Memory Config.
  2. On the Memory Config screen, set Memory Frequency to 2933 and Custom Refresh Rate to Auto.

Configuring PCIe Options

  1. On the BIOS settings page, choose Advanced > PCIe Config.
  2. On the PCIe Config screen, configure PCIe splitting options first.

    Set the bandwidth splitting option of the slot where the NETINT Quadra card is installed to x4. For example, if the NETINT Quadra card is installed in slot 3, set Slot3 BandWidth Splitting to x4.

  3. Save and exit BIOS configuration.
  4. Access the server OS. Run the nvme command to check whether the PCIe splitting function takes effect.

    The NETINT encoding card uses the NVMe protocol. If NVMe is not installed in the environment, install it.

    After installing the NETINT encoding card, run the following command to check whether the card is correctly identified:

    nvme list

    If information similar to the following example is displayed, the NETINT encoding card is correctly installed:

    One NETINT Quadra card has two chips, corresponding to two device nodes. The preceding output shows one NETINT Quadra card, which corresponds to two device nodes.

  5. On the BIOS settings page, choose Advanced > PCIe Config. On the PCIe Config screen, set the PCIe max payload size. On the CPU 0 PCIe Configuration and CPU 1 PCIe Configuration screens, set Max Payload Size to 512B for all PCIe ports.
