Constraints
Before configuring vKAE, you need to understand the constraints on vKAE, including the impact on the system, application constraints, and interaction with other features.
- Impact on the system
If the license of the KAE driver is not obtained, you are not advised using KAE to call the corresponding algorithms. Otherwise, the performance of the OpenSSL encryption and decryption algorithms can be affected.
- Application constraints
vKAE mainly provides acceleration for the RSA encryption and decryption algorithms. Therefore, when optimizing the Nginx network performance, vKAE provides acceleration only for HTTPS connections that are encrypted using SSL/TLS. HTTP connections encrypted not using SSL/TLS are not applicable.
KAE 2.0 supports openEuler 22.03 LTS SP3, while KAE 1.0 does not support openEuler 22.03.
- Feature interactions
Before using vKAE, you are required to use KAE 2.0 and install the KAE driver license on the physical machine. You need to deploy the HPRE acceleration device on a physical machine, and create and configure the corresponding VFs using the HPRE acceleration device. Then you need to pass through these VFs to the target VM, for the VM to use vKAE to accelerate the RSA encryption and decryption algorithms.
