(Hardware Configuration Scheme 3/4) Configuring the BIOS

This section describes how to configure the BIOS in hardware configuration scheme 3 or 4, including MISC, performance, and memory options, to improve server performance.

Restarting the Server and Entering the BIOS Setup Screen

  1. Log in to the remote management platform of the server. On the Remote Virtual Console, press Del or F4 after the system boot screen is displayed.

  2. Enter the BIOS password to access the BIOS configuration screen.

Configuring MISC Options

Configure the Support Smmu option as follows.

  1. On the BIOS setup screen, choose Advanced > MISC Configuration.

  2. On the MISC Configuration screen, set Support Smmu to Disabled. Save the setting and exit.

Configuring Performance Options

  1. On the BIOS setup screen, choose Advanced > Power And Performance Configuration.

  2. On the Power And Performance Configuration screen, set Power Policy to Performance. Save the setting and exit.

Configuring Memory Options

Set Memory Frequency and Custom Refresh Rate as follows.

  1. On the BIOS setup screen, choose Advanced > Memory Configuration.

  2. On the Memory Configuration screen, set Memory Frequency to 4800 for hardware configuration scheme 3 or to 5200 for hardware configuration scheme 4. Set Custom Refresh Rate to Auto, save the settings, and exit.
