Installing NetCDF-Fortran

Procedure

1. Use PuTTY to log in to the server as the root user.
2. Decompress the NetCDF-Fortran installation package.

   tar -xvf netcdf-fortran-4.4.1.tar.gz

3. Go to the directory generated after the decompression.

   cd netcdf-fortran-4.4.1

4. Perform the configuration.

   ./configure --prefix=/path/to/NETCDF CPPFLAGS="-I$HDF5/include -I$NETCDF/include" LDFLAGS="-L$HDF5/lib -L$NETCDF/lib" --build=aarch64-unknown-linux-gnu --enable-static=yes --enable-shared CFLAGS="-O3 -fPIC -Wno-incompatible-pointer-types-discards-qualifiers -Wno-non-literal-conversion" FCFLAGS="-O3 -fPIC" LDFLAGS="-Wl,--build-id" CC=mpicc FC=mpif90 CXX=mpicxx

5. Modify the libtool file in the current directory.
   1. Open the libtool file.

      vi libtool

   2. Press i to enter the edit mode and modify lines 10118 and 10270 in the libtool file.

      wl='-Wl,'

      

      After performing 5.a, press Esc, type :set nu, and press Enter to display the line number.

   3. Press Esc, type :wq!, and press Enter to save the file and exit.
6. Perform the compilation and installation.

   make
   make install

7. After the installation is complete, load the environment variables.

   export PATH=/path/to/NETCDF/bin:$PATH
   export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/path/to/NETCDF/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
