Tool Overview
STREAM is one of the most widely used tools for measuring sustained memory bandwidth. As the number of processor cores increases, memory bandwidth becomes more and more important for improving the performance of an entire system. If a system cannot quickly transmit data in memory to a processor, processing cores will be in an idle state of waiting for data, and the idle time not only reduces the system efficiency but also counteracts the performance improvement factors brought by multiple cores and high frequency. STREAM features excellent spatial locality and TLB and cache friendliness. STREAM supports Copy, Scale, Add, and Triad operations.
