OS Migration
When an OS is about to reach end of marketing (EOM) but the lifecycle of the application software or product does not end, this OS needs to be migrated to a new OS to ensure service continuity and security. Enterprises must prioritize continuous evolution, comprehensive scenario support, reliability, and stability when choosing OSs to facilitate sustainable development, product innovation, and digital transformation. Simultaneously, they require systematic migration solutions and tools to ensure seamless migration without concerns. openEuler assists enterprises in migrating OSs simply, stably, and efficiently to meet their needs.
x2openEuler is a migration tool suite used to migrate from the source OS to openEuler, such as in-place migration from CentOS, Red Hat, Ubuntu, and SUSE to openEuler. It also supports in-place upgrade in batches. On the intuitive user interface of x2openEuler, you can batch add nodes to be upgraded for migration analysis, design migration plans, address compatibility issues, and batch upgrade the adapted nodes to implement end-to-end migration. In addition, x2openEuler supports adaptation-free service migration in the Windows .NET Framework web scenario, helping to quickly migrate applications to openEuler.
The migration solution consists of six steps: setting up a migration support team, conducting migration analysis, designing migration plans, adapting software before migration, implementing migration, and conducting testing and rollout. See Figure 1.
