Kunpeng Domain Tuner Functions

The Kunpeng Domain Tuner is a scenario-based tuning tool for the Kunpeng platform. It enables out-of-the-box optimization through a two-step process: "one-click configuration" followed by "automatic parameter tuning." The tool supports scenarios such as big data and databases, with support for additional scenarios to be added in future iterations. By incorporating tuning expertise from real-world deployments, the tool enables one-click configuration of typical BIOS, OS, and application parameters and Kunpeng affinity features. It also uses built-in AI algorithms to optimize parameters and provide better parameter combinations and recommended values, helping maximize performance within the available configuration space.

Prerequisites

  • The Kunpeng Domain Tuner has been installed.
  • The tool is contained in an independent package (devkit-kdt-x.x.x-Linux-aarch64.tar.gz). Extract the package and switch to the tool directory.

Command Function

Enables one-click parameter configuration and recommended Kunpeng affinity settings for supported scenarios, with further support for automatic optimization to obtain the optimal parameter combination.

Syntax

1
kdt [-h] [-l {0,1,2,3}] [-g SCENE | -s WORKSPACE_PATH | -c WORKSPACE_PATH | -t WORKSPACE_PATH] [-o PATH]

Parameter

Option

Description

-h/--help

-

(Optional) Obtains help information.

-l/--loglevel

0/1/2/3

(Optional) Log level, which defaults to 1.

  • 0: DEBUG
  • 1: INFO
  • 2: WARNING
  • 3: ERROR

-g/--generate

-

(Optional) Workspace generated based on the selected scenario. The -g, -s, -c, and -t parameters are mutually exclusive.

You can use -o/--output to specify the workspace for the generated scenario. If this parameter is not specified, a Scenario-Timestamp directory is generated in the workspace directory under the tool installation directory. The directory contains the hosts, log, and snapshots folders, as well as the depends.yaml, global.yaml, hosts.yaml, and resources.yaml files.

-s/--set

-

(Optional) Sets parameter configuration items. The -s, -g, -c, and -t parameters are mutually exclusive.

-c/--clear

-

(Optional) Clears some parameter configurations, temporary files, and other data. The -c, -g, -s, and -t parameters are mutually exclusive.

-t/--tui

-

(Optional) Opens the one-click configuration interface, where you can modify the generated parameters. The -t, -g, -s, and -c parameters are mutually exclusive.

The one-click configuration interface consists of four areas: the information area, server list area, configuration editing area, and snapshot area. In these areas, you can query information, manage servers, modify configurations, and perform snapshot operations. For details about the interface, see One-Click Configuration Interface.

-o/--output

-

(Optional) Workspace for generating a scenario. It cannot be an existing directory.
