Constraints

Note the following constraints when using BoostIO:

  • It can run only on the Huawei Kunpeng computing platform.
  • Software upgrades must be offline.
  • A BoostIO cluster must contain 2 to 256 compute nodes.
  • BoostIO uses memory and NVMe SSDs as the cache media. That is, each compute node must be equipped with memory and NVMe SSDs as the data cache space for BoostIO.
  • BoostIO requires that the memory space be greater than or equal to 50 GB and at least one NVMe SSD of greater than or equal to 3.6 TB be configured.
  • BoostIO supports Ceph and HDFS back-end storage systems.
  • When installing the BoostIO software on a node, you need to configure an installation user account on that node and ensure the account security on your own.
  • The BoostIO POSIX bridging acceleration library is used only for R&D engineers to test ultimate application performance. Due to incomplete bridging interfaces and unsatisfying security conditions, the library has not been put into commercial use.
